Chatham Emergency Notification System
In an
effort to provide reliable and effective communication to residences,
the Town of Chatham has implemented Swiftreach Networks, Inc. as our
emergency notification provider.
Swift911
is a high speed notification system designed to make calls to specific
people or areas in the event of an emergency or for sharing important
information. The Chatham Emergency Management Agency and other
town departments will use this system to notify residence by telephone
of important information regarding you and your property. The
system can make thousands of calls in a minute to convey vital
information. These messages may include information on floods,
fires, water emergencies, road closures, missing persons, evacuation
orders, weather and other emergencies.
It is
important, that residence and business owners verify their contact
information in the data base. Accurate telephone numbers in the
database help to ensure, but cannot guarantee, that emergency
information will be passed on to everyone in a timely manner.
Residents
can add additional telephone numbers including a cell phone, and can
also receive notification by email, text or pager. The address
documented must be in Chatham, but the phone number can be for
anywhere. Emergency messages can reach TTY (teletypewriter)
phones used by the hearing impaired. Additionally, the system
employs a Do Not Call component for those who do not wish to receive
the alert.
All the
calls you receive will have a Caller ID indicating the Town of
Chatham. Please fill out the form below to add or update your
contact information. You may also remove yourself from the list.
If you do not have access to a computer, you may call the Chatham Fire
Department at 508-945-2324 to provide the information.
Please
be advised that before your registration is listed in our system, you
may be contacted to review the data and authenticate your
information.
