The Town of Chatham has prepared a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to provide guidelines for a storm water management program which is designed to:
- Protect water quality.
- Reduce the discharge of pollutants to the maximum extent practicable.
- Satisfy the requirements of the Clean Water Act.
The SWPPP is based on guidance provided by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and the United States Environmental Protection Agency Region I, and the conditions of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II General Permit for storm water discharges.
